Reverse Osmosisby Carolina Water Conditioners Reverse osmosis is a process which purifies water by passing it through a fine membrane. It works the same way that evaporation does. As water evaporates it is pure because the mist leaves behind all of the minerals and chemicals. The same thing happens when reverse osmosis takes place. The water passes through a membrane leaving all the chemicals and minerals on the other side. (See Diagram) The result is pure, great tasting water. You should check out our Bottle-less Water information.
